Kolkata, July 30 -- Birla Corporation Limited today reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 2,486 crore for the June quarter, up 13 percent over last year, and delivered a net profit of Rs 120 crore,
up 264 percent year-on-year.
The sales by volume for the quarter also grew 9 percent.
The Company's consolidated EBITDA grew 38 pc to Rs 379 crore from Rs 275 crore in the same period last year. The growth in EBITDA was the result of improved cement sales, lower operating cost and a turnaround in jute.
The cement sales by volume during the quarter was at 4.79 million tons (mt) compared to 4.38 mt in the same period last year. Cement sales were affected by early arrival of the monsoon and depressed prices in some of the Company's core markets...
