Aizawl, Aug. 1 -- The biometric enrolment process for refugees in Mizoram, covering Serchhip, Lunglei, Champhai, and Hnahthial districts, has officially commenced.

In Serchhip district, the biometric enrolment for Myanmar and Bangladesh refugees started on Wednesday, with SDO (Sadar) Rebecca Laldinmawii Hrahsel confirming the process had begun in the Serchhip Chanmari VC area on July 30. Enrolment will continue on Monday and Friday next week, after breaks on yesterday and today.

Serchhip district currently hosts refugees in 30 localities and villages. The total count of Myanmar refugees includes 198 male adults, 150 females, and 299 children, bringing the total to 647. In Thenzawl town, Bangladesh refugees comprise 75 male adults, 73 fem...
