Chennai, Nov. 3 -- A biography on Bharat Ratna and eminent Agriculture scientist,who had ushered in the Green revolution, was launched in the city last evening.
It was launched by Tamil Nadu IT and Digital Services Minister Dr Palanivel ThiagaRajan and MNM Founder, actor-politician and Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan.
The biography titled "The Man Who Fed India" was authored by Priyambada Jayakumarand published by HarperCollins India.
In his address, Kamal paid rich tributes to Prof. Swaminathan's monumental contributionsto food and nutritional security in India, highlighting his life's work as "He belonged to ageneration that saw liberty not as leisure, but as labour, the sacred duty of rebuilding abroken nation.
