Alappuzha, Sept. 12 -- Senior Communist leader Binoy Viswam was unanimously re-elected as the Kerala State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) today.
The decision was made at the State Council meeting that followed the party's three-day state conference, chaired by Satyan Mokeri. CPI General Secretary D. Raja and several national and state leaders attended the session.
Born on November 25, 1955, at Vaikom in Kottayam district, Viswam is the son of veteran CPI leader and former MLA C.K. Viswanathan and C.K. Omana.
A graduate in Arts and Law, he began his public life in the All India Students' Federation (AISF) and went on to serve as its State Secretary and National Secretary.
