Dhaka, Jan. 7 -- In another measure of the growing close ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan, national air carrier Biman Bangladesh is to launch direct flights from Dhaka to Karachi from January 29.
Biman Bangladesh will fly the Dhaka-Karachi-Dhaka route from January 29, resuming direct air connectivity with Pakistan after more than a decade. The national flag carrier will initially operate two weekly direct flights, a top official of Biman told Daily Star.
Earlier, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority granted approval to Biman to begin operations on the route and to use Pakistan's airspace on approved corridors.
