Patna, March 29 -- Bihar government has announced to procure wheat from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) from April 1 with payments to be made within 48 hours of purchase.
Official sources said here today that the state's Cooperation Department has completed all necessary preparations for the procurement process, which will be carried out through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and trade mandals. Farmers will be able to sell their produce at the MSP fixed by the central government.
The sources said that for the Rabi Marketing Season 2026-27, the central government has set the MSP for wheat at Rs 2,585 per quintal, an increase of Rs 160 per quintal compared to the previous year. This is expected to ensure remunerativ...
