Motihari (Bihar), March 17 -- A Special Task Force (STF) jawan was killed while two notorious criminals were gunned down in a fierce encounter between police and criminals in Bihar's East Champaran district early Tuesday morning.
According to police, the encounter took place in Ramdiha village under Chakia police station area, where a joint team of STF and local police launched a raid following a tip-off about the presence of criminals.
As the police team surrounded the hideout, the criminals opened indiscriminate fire to escape. The security forces retaliated, leading to a gun battle in which two dreaded criminals, identified as Kundan Thakur and Priyanshu Dubey, were killed on the spot.
