Patna, March 22 -- A local court on Saturday awarded imprisonment for one year to a revenue staff Mushafir Singh and also slapped fine of Rs 10,000 on him in connection with a bribery case.
Special Vigilance court of Muhammad Rustom sentenced revenue staff Mushafir of Harnaut in Nalanda district, to one year imprisonment after he was found guilty under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
Musafir was also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000, failing which he would have to undergo additional imprisonment of one month.
According to the prosecution sources, Musafir had demanded bribe from a local person of Harnaut for mutation of a plot. On the basis of complaint lodged in this connection, Vigilance registered a case against the reve...
