Patna, July 29 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary today said that the historic and mythological month-long 'Sitakund Fair' in Munger district will now be managed by the management of the Bihar State Fair Authority.
Choudhary said that the fair holds significant mythological, religious, social, cultural and tourism-related importance. Every year, lakhs of devotees from Munger and nearby districts including Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Begusarai, Saharsa, Purnia and Lakhisarai participate in the fair.
He also informed that nearly 5,000 foreign tourists visit the Sitakund temple annually for worship and sightseeing.
