New Delhi, Oct. 16 -- The Supreme Court today continued hearing petitions challenging the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, where the Election Commission of India (ECI) has undertaken a large-scale verification and deletion drive ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
A bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi observed that the ECI "knows its responsibility" and is bound to publish the final electoral roll after completing additions and deletions, ensuring that the entire process remains transparent and constitutionally compliant.
