Patna, Dec. 11 -- Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey on Thursday said that the state government is giving special emphasis on effectively implementing the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) to ensure quality antenatal care for every pregnant woman in the state.
The minister said that under PMSMA, comprehensive and quality antenatal check-ups are conducted on three fixed days every month. He informed that earlier the programme was being run at 702 health facilities across the state. Now, the government has expanded this service to 568 additional centres, including 564 Additional Primary Health Centres and four Urban Primary Health Centres.
