Patna, Feb. 3 -- The fiscal deficit of the Bihar budget of Rs 3,47,589.76 crores for the fiscal 2026-27, presented today in the Assembly, has been estimated to be 2.99 per cent of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), which is within 3 per cent upper limit fixed under provision of the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act to ensure good financial health of the state economy.
Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Finance Department Anand Kishor, while giving details of the budget, told media persons here that total size of the state budget for the financial year 2025-26 was Rs 3,47,589.76 crores, which was Rs 30,694.74 crores more than the budget size of Rs 3,16,895.02 crores for the year 2025-26.
