Patna, Aug. 16 -- In a landmark step towards agricultural modernisation, the Bihar government has set up the country's first Digital Agriculture Directorate for delivering real-time benefits of government schemes to farmers, ensuring accurate crop forecasting, and building an integrated database for agriculture and allied sectors.
Sources at the Agriculture department said here today that the initiative, approved by the State Cabinet under Bihar's Agriculture Roadmap, would prove to be a major leap that will not only strengthen farmers' access to subsidies and resources but also make the state a frontrunner in agricultural digitisation at the national level.
