Patna, March 11 -- : The Bihar government announced plans to improve the overall functioning of the state's Sahitya Academies.

Replying to a short notice question of BJP member Amrendra Pratap Singh during the pre-lunch sitting in Bihar assembly on Tuesday, Education Minister Sunil Kumar admitted that the Sahitya Academy needed administrative, vacancies, and financial improvement. He said that the vacant posts in the academies would be filled after they were rationalized.

The Minister said that the laws and bylaws of different Sahitya Academies would be amended only if required for rationalization of the vacant posts and for the administration as well as financial improvement.
