Patna, Sept. 8 -- The Bihar government has decided to increase the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers, giving a major relief to thousands of women employed under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS).

The announcement comes ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, making it a significant move by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's government.

Announcing on X, the Chief Minister said Anganwadi workers and helpers play a vital role in improving the nutrition and living standards of children and pregnant women. "In recognition of their important contribution, the state government has decided to increase their honorarium," Kumar posted.
