Patna, July 10 -- In a major initiative towards women's safety, sanitation, and empowerment, the Bihar government has announced to construct 100 Pink Toilets across 16 urban local bodies (ULBs) in the state under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Jivesh Kumar said here today that the link toilets would be constructed at an expenditure of Rs 2.50 crore to ensure safe and dignified sanitation for women. He emphasised that the Pink Toilets will include access to electricity, clean water, and sanitation facilities. Female caretakers would be appointed and a dedicated helpline number would be available for assistance, he said.
