Patna, July 30 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary today said that the state government has decided to appoint 26,325 ASHA workers in rural and urban areas.

Choudhary also said that the government

will also increase the honorarium of 94,664 ASHA and 5,203 Mamta workers.

She added that considering the challenging work of ASHA workers, including carrying out vaccinations, promoting institutional deliveries, and implementing other healthcare programs at the grassroot level, the government has decided to raise their monthly honorarium from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. The incentive per delivery of Mamta workers has also been raised from Rs 300 to Rs 600.
