Patna, July 8 -- The Bihar government has sanctioned Rs 100 crore as diesel subsidy for carrying out irrigation in view of irregular monsoon, drought and deficient rainfall in the financial year 2025-26.

After the cabinet meeting, additional chief secretary cabinet S Siddharth told media that the subsidy has been sanctioned for irrigation of crops including paddy, maize, jute, pulses, oilseeds, seasonal vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plants.

He said the funds would be utilised in the current financial year.

The CM said farmers would get Rs 750 per acre as subsidy to irrigate their farm. They would get Rs 1,500 for protecting paddy saplings and Rs 2,250 as subsidy on every acre of land for carrying out three irrigation for Kharif crop...
