Patna, May 27 -- The Bihar government has sanctioned Rs 219 crore for payment due to non-government Sanskrit school teachers and non-teaching staff, said Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Tuesday.

Chaudhary said the state government sanctioned Rs 219 crore for payment of salaries to teachers and non-teaching staff of non-government schools. Out of sanctioned Rs 219 crore, a sum of Rs 72.49 crore had been released with immediate effect, he added.

"The authorities have been directed to ensure payment of salaries directly to bank accounts of teachers and non-teaching staff working against sanctioned posts in non-government schools", Chaudhary said, adding that the funds were sanctioned for the financial 2025-26.
