Patna, April 29 -- Bihar Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar on Tuesday said the state has been given the target of providing 4.74 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY).
Kumar said the Centre has given target of providing 4.74 lakhs houses to Bihar under PMAY. State government was making its best efforts to achieve the target as soon as possible, he added.
" Centre has approved Rs 1497 crores as first installment to Bihar government for construction of houses under PMAY ", Minister said adding that Rs 2102 crores had been sanctioned for payment of wages for labourers working under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MNREGA). Similarly, allotment of Rs 930 crores was maded for Jeevika Yojana, he added.
