Patna, Sept. 25 -- Bihar has got a central grant of Rs 801.009 crore to bear the financial expenditures of rural local bodies,.

According to an official statement, the central government has released the first installment of the grant under the 15th Finance Commission for the financial year 2025-26 to Rural Local Bodies of Bihar. The fund is meant for 38 District Panchayats, 530 Block Panchayats and 8046 Gram Panchayats in the state.

The grant will be utilised by Rural Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions for location-specific needs, under the Twenty-Nine (29) subjects enshrined in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution, except for salaries and other establishment costs.
