Patna, July 18 -- In a major relief to the power consumers of Bihar, the state cabinet today gave its nod to provide 125 units of free electricity to 1.67 crore domestic consumers in the state.
After cabinet's meeting, Bihar Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav told news persons here, "The cabinet has taken a decision to provide cent percent subsidy for those consumers who consume up to 125 units of electricity."
On this occasion, development commissioner Pratyaya Amrit said that 100 percent subsidy up to 125 units will be given and no fixed charge and other charges will be levied on those consuming up to 125 units.
He said out of 1.86 crore domestic power consumers of the state, 1.67 crore consumers consume up to 125 units per month.
