Patna, Jan. 13 -- The Bihar Cabinet gave its green signal on Tuesday to 41 proposals including settlement of the long-pending Son River water-sharing dispute between Bihar and Jharkhand.

After the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Additional Chief Secretary Cabinet Arvind Chaudhary told newspersons here that the cabinet gave its nod for the settlement of the Son River water-sharing dispute after nearly 53 years.

Chaudhary said that under the Bansagar Agreement signed in 1973, the then undivided Bihar was entitled to 7.75 million acre-feet (MAF) of water.
