Patna, April 25 -- In order to give relief to the power consumers, the Bihar government has sanctioned Rs 15,995 crore as subsidy to the consumers during 2025-26.
The cabinet sanctioned the amount in a cabinet meeting held here on Friday in the leadership of the chief minister Nitish Kumar.
Additional chief secretary S Siddharth told media after the meeting that the fund has been sanctioned under "Mukhya Mantri Vidyut Upbhokta Sahayta Yojana" to give per unit subsidy to the power consumers of the state.
The amount would be given directly to NTPC through Reserve Bank of India, he added.
