Montevideo, Nov. 21 -- Marcelo Bielsa insisted that he has the strength and conviction to remain Uruguay's manager following a 5-1 friendly defeat to the United States.

Bielsa called a press conference in Montevideo amid heavy criticism of his team's performance at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on Tuesday.

"I have had the same strength since the first day to continue with the national team through to the World Cup. If at any point I thought I should not continue, that moment was not now," said Bielsa, who was appointed Uruguay's manager in May 2023.
