Washington, May 8 -- The Biden administration has revoked the licenses extended to Intel and Qualcomm to supply semiconductors to the communications technology giant Huawei, the Financial Times reported.

The US Commerce Department has affected Huawei's access to laptop and mobile phone chips by revoking certain export licenses, notifying affected companies without detailing which ones, the report said on Tuesday.

"We continuously assess how our controls can best protect our national security and foreign policy interests, taking into consideration a constantly changing threat environment and technological landscape," a Commerce Department spokesperson was quoted by the report as saying.
