Hyderabad, July 6 -- The historic Bibi Ka Alam procession, held on the 10th day of Muharram, concluded peacefully in Hyderabad on Sunday, marking the culmination of a ten-day period of mourning observed by the Shia Muslim community.

The procession, which began from Ashurkhana in Dabeerpura (Darul Shifa), saw the ceremonial "Alam" being carried on Lakshmi, an elephant brought specially from Karnataka. The grand procession moved through the city's key thoroughfares before concluding at Masjid-e-Ilahi, Chaderghat, on the banks of the Musi River.
