Chennai, Dec. 13 -- In a blow to Team India, swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of the upcoming three match ODI series against West Indies due to an injury and Mumbai pacer Shardul Thakur was reportedly picked as his replacement for the series beginning on Sunday.

Bhuvi was the second player to be ruled out after opener Shikhar Dhawan lost his place due to an injury prior to the ODI series, with Mayank Agarwal coming in place of him.

"Bhuvaneshwar has been ruled out of the series and Shardul will be replacing him," BCCI sources said.

The exact nature of the injury of Bhuvi was not announced, even after Team India Bowling coach B Arun said the team Physios will take a final cal. UNI GV 2320
