Hyderabad, Aug. 5 -- Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has written to Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister J P Nadda requesting immediate supply of urea to Telangana, citing severe shortages during the ongoing Kharif season.
In his letter, the MP highlighted that the Centre allocated 9.80 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of urea for Telangana for Kharif 2025, but as of July 31, the state had received only 4.36 LMT, leaving a shortfall of 2.24 LMT. He further pointed out that for August, the state requires 3.50 LMT, but only 1.70 LMT has been allocated, causing hardship to farmers and affecting cotton, maize, and paddy crops.
