Kolkata, Feb. 11 -- : union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav on Wednesday sidestepped West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's repeated allegation that the Centre has withheld nearly Rs 2 lakh crore dues to the state, and instead launched a sharp counter-attack, accusing her of denying legitimate dues to her own government employees for years.

Addressing a press conference in Kolkata while explaining the significance of the union Budget, Yadav declined to directly rebut the Chief Minister's claim on pending central funds or comment on the calculations cited by the state government.
