Bhupendra Gupta appointed CMD of SJVNL for interim period

Shimla, May 3 -- The Union Ministry of Power in an order gave Bhupendra Gupta, director (technical) of THDC India Limited, the additional charge of chairman and managing director (CMD) of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVNL). The order, dated May 2, 2025, takes effect from May 1.

This temporary appointment comes in anticipation of final approval from the appointments committee of the cabinet. Gupta will hold the dual charge for a period of three months or until a full-time CMD is appointed, whichever is earlier. The decision was issued by the Ministry of Power from Shram Shakti Bhawan, New Delhi, and signed by director Santosh Kumar.
