Mumbai, Sept. 6 -- Senior Maharashtra minister and OBC leader Chhagan Bhujbal has criticized the state cabinet sub-committee's decision to implement the Hyderabad gazette on Maratha quota, stating that it was taken hastily and under pressure.
Bhujbal said there is no alternative but to approach the court to seek clarity on the government decision.
A few days back, Maratha community leader Manoj Jarange Patil started a hunger strike at Mumbai's Azad Maidan demanding reservation for Marathas under the OBC category. After six of his eight demands were accepted, he called off the agitation. One of his main demands was the implementation of the Hyderabad Gazette. The cabinet sub-committee accepted this demand and issued a government order.
