Mumbai, Sept. 9 -- Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal today stated that the state government's recent order on Maratha reservation requires immediate amendment.

Speaking to journalists, Bhujbal said the government must either withdraw or modify the September 2 order, arguing that certain wordings in the document convey "unintended meanings."He revealed that the order was issued under pressure, without any discussion with him as a cabinet minister. He expressed concern that classifying all Marathas as Kunbi for inclusion in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category would adversely affect the rights of the 350 castes already on the OBC list.
