Mumbai, Aug. 4 -- Former Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde has incurred a Rs 42 lakh penalty for failing to vacate his official Satpura bungalow despite resigning from the cabinet on March 4, this year. This delay prevented newly allotted occupant and Food Minister Chhagan Bhujbal from moving into the residence, though his formal allotment order was issued on May 23.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekwar Bawankule emphasized that since Dhananjay Munde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar are both part of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), Pawar has the authority to resolve the ongoing controversy surrounding Munde.
