Varanasi, Aug. 13 -- A contract killer was arrested late last night following an encounter with police in Varanasi's Nuaon area. The accused, Pramod Kumar alias Ganesh Pasi, sustained a bullet injury to his leg during the encounter and was admitted to the BHU Trauma Center for treatment.
Police said during interrogation, Pasi confessed to have executed a brutal assault on Prof CS Ramachandra Murthy, Head of the Telugu Department at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on July 28.
