Vijayawada, March 28 -- A major transformation is in progress for Indian Railways with upgradation of Railway stations on a massive scale, with a vision to provide World-class facilities to the passengers.
Under the "Amrit Bharat Station Scheme" (ABSS), 53 Railway stations across the state of Andhra Pradesh served by South Central Railway (SCR) are being redeveloped with a cost of Rs 2,611 crores, to provide modern passenger amenities and convert them into growth centres to the
regional population.
The mission got a major boost when the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for station redevelopment in the state of Andhra Pradesh during August, 2023 and February, 2024.
