Jhansi/New Delhi, Dec. 3 -- The 46th death anniversary of hockey wizard Maj. Dhyan Chand was observed in his native town Jhansi and the national capital on Wednesday.

Maj. Dhyan Chand, widely regarded as the greatest Hockey player of all time, led India to three consecutive Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932, and 1936. Chand whose birthday, August 29, is celebrated as National Sports Day passed away on December 3 in 1979.

At Jhansi, a documentary on his life 'Virasat- Major Dhyan Chand' was screened on Wednesday evening at the Jhansi Heroes Club ground. The Jhansi Heroes Club ground, is the park from where the Hockey wizard began his sporting journey.
