Cannes, May 14 -- A week after hosting the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai, India today opened the Bharat Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival, underlining the country's significance as a global content hub.
"The Indian film industry has brought content to Cannes this year," said Ravi Kottarakara, the president of Film Federation of India (FFI), the apex body of producers, distributors and exhibitors in the country.
The inauguration of the Bharat Pavilion, a window to India and Indian cinema set up at the Cannes Film Market, the biggest film market in the world, by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) was attended by actor Anupam Kher and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.
