Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 24 -- The thin line between life and cinema, and the constant quest for authenticity, came under focus at the "Reel to Real" session held as part of the 17th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK).
Renowned documentary filmmakers Ranjit Ray, Avijit Mukul Kishore, Lipika Singh Darai, and Fazil N.C. participated in the discussion, moderated by acclaimed actress Cuckoo Parameswaran.
Avijit Mukul Kishore observed that in the very act of framing, the distance between reel and real often dissolves. Ranjit Ray added that "reality" itself is vague and depends largely on the filmmaker's vision and perspective, placing documentaries in the space between life and imagination.
