Bengaluru, Aug. 8 -- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently alleged that 80 voters were registered at one 120-square-foot room in Bengaluru's Mahadevapura area, claiming voter fraud helped BJP win the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections. However, the owner of the room, Jayaram Reddy, todays denied the accusation.
Speaking to the media, Reddy clarified that the tenants of the small room are mostly migrant labourers who stay temporarily - usually for six months to a year. According to him, these tenants obtain voter ID cards using rental agreements as proof of residence, but do not actually vote from this address.
