Bengaluru, April 9 -- A Bengaluru resident has written a letter to Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot seeking sanction to prosecute state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for alleged "corruption and abuse of power" over the extension of mining licences during his earlier tenure.
The letter, dated April 4, 2025, was authored by 55-year-old Rama Murthy, a resident of HVR Layout on Magadi Main Road, who has requested an appointment with the Governor to personally present documents and seek formal sanction for prosecution.
Citing provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, Murthy has accused Siddaramaiah -also the MLA from Varuna-of "favouritism, maladministration, and wilful misuse of public office".
