Bengaluru, Sept. 19 -- In a rare and remarkable achievement in paediatric eye care, Nethradhama Super Speciality Eye Hospital in Bengaluru has successfully restored vision in a six-week-old infant, one of the youngest cases in India to undergo congenital cataract surgery.
The complex procedure, costing between Rs 40,000 and Rs 1 lakh, was led by world-renowned ophthalmologist Prof. Dr. Sri Ganesh, Chairman and Managing Director of Nethradhama, and required specialised instruments and expert paediatric anaesthesia.
The surgery has prevented the infant from lifelong visual disability and underscores the importance of early intervention.
