Bengaluru, Sept. 27 -- The East City Corporation has begun long-awaited repair works on three major road stretches - Panathur Road, Balagere Main Road, and Vibgyor School Road - after years of resident complaints over crumbling infrastructure and poor drainage.

Residents had repeatedly flagged the absence of proper roadside drains, which worsened flooding during rains, while civic groups warned that broken roads were hazardous for both motorists and pedestrians.

According to officials, Panathur Road and Vibgyor School Road have already been asphalted, while Balagere Main Road is being white-topped. However, concerns have surfaced over the quality of the work, with commuters pointing out gaps on the freshly laid asphalt.
