Bengaluru, Dec. 8 -- The domestic carrier IndiGo triggered major disruption at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bengaluru, cancelling 150 flights on Monday alone, the highest among six metro airports impacted nationwide.
Of these cancellations at Bengaluru, 76 were arrivals and 74 departures, as per airline-source data.
The decision to cancel such a high number of flights was linked to the implementation of new crew-duty and rest norms by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation), which forced IndiGo to rework rosters - a move that appears to have overwhelmed its scheduling and manpower capacity.
