Kolkata, May 11 -- Eligible women in West Bengal are likely to get the benefit of the"Annapurna Bhandar" scheme from next month with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday asking officials to initiate measures for rolling out the programme.

At a high level meeting, Adhikari also directed the officials to ensure women could avail of free travel in state-run buses from next month, state secretariat sources said.

Under the 'Annapurna Bhandar' scheme, women beneficiaries would be entitled to a monthly financial assistance of Rs 3000.
