Durgapur, July 18 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who unveiled projects worth Rs 5400 crore here, today iterated that West Bengal will lead as a growth engine for Vikshit Bharat (developed India).
Addressing an open meeting at the Nehru Stadium in this industrial city, about 170 kms from Kolkata, Modi said, "Across the nation, we are united by a single goal transforming Bharat into a developed country and West Bengal to lead as the growth engine."
He said, "Our mission is rooted in the principles of empowerment through development, self-reliance through employment, and compassion through good governance and we have to make Bharat Viksit by 2047."
