Kolkata, June 12 -- The West Bengal Police on Thursday said the overall situation in South 24 Parganas' Maheshtala area was peaceful and under control after shops and houses were vandalized in a violent group clash between two groups on Wednesday, forcing the administration to clamp prohibitory orders.
