Bengal Speaker likely to issue ruling against LoP Suvendu

Kolkata, June 11 -- West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee is expected to issue a ruling against leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikatri on Wednesday after four ruling TMC ministers brought a privilege motion against the BJP leader and submitted it to the chair, assembly sources said.

Senior ministers -- Chandrima Bhattacharya, Shovandeb Chatterjee, Aroop Bioswas and Indranil Sen -- jointly bought the privilege on Tuesday evening and submitted it to the Speaker accusing Adhikari of breaching the Assembly code by making "defamatory and untrue" statements about Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee outside the floor of the House.
