Kolkata, March 29 -- In a fresh reshuffle ahead of the West Bengal Assembly polls, the Election Commission on Sunday ordered the transfer of 83 officials including Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) across the state.

According to the order issued by the commission, the highest number of transfers are from East Midnapore district, where 14 BDOs and AROs have been transferred.

There are two blocks in Nandigram where BDOs have been removed. Interestingly enough, leader of the opposition Suvendu Adhikari is contesting from Nandigram.

East Midnapore is followed by South 24 Parganas where 11 BDOs and AROs have been removed.
