Kolkata, July 29 -- Bengal Assembly's Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari today dashed off a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar urging him to take suo moto cognizance of CM Mamata Banerjee's alleged intimidation of state government employees.
"I have written to the Election Commissioner of India, urging the ECI to take suo moto cognisance of her remarks that interfere with the duties of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and undermine the ECI's authority," Adhikari said
During an administrative meeting of officials at Birbhum's Bolpur yesterday Banerjee reminded the BLOs that they were employees of the state government and should refrain from deleting the names of voters.
